Rudesheim

Wednesday the 2nd May we find ourselves in the charming village of Rudesheim. We are now on the Rhine River. Not many shops open, as new year, as well as the tourists season has finished and many stores will not be open until March.
Today was quite cold with light rain.
We all had a delightful train ride to Siegfried’s musical museum and through the town. After our tour through this museum with the most wonderful collection of all things musical, we strolled back to the boat through drunken alley and the quaint streets.

Drunken alley..

Great window shutters, this was in drunken alley, a very narrow street.

Our train ride to the musical museum.

Lovely painted ceilings

A lovely collection of all things musical.

After our tour we explored the town, not much open, most stores were closed and will not open until March, when the season begins again
This evening we are attending a three course dinner at Burg Namedy, hosted by Princess Heide Von Hohenzollern and her family.
We ere served canapés and champagne, then had a three course meal and was treated to a piano recital by an up and coming young pianist, he was brilliant. We were all allowed to wander around the palace to explore. An enjoyable evening was had by all.
