Epping Quilt show and Vinnie's linen and lace day.

What would a day in the week be like without a quilt show, one of my great pleasures is visiting local and international quilt shows. I am always amazed at the creative talent of other people. Today, Friday I went over to West Pennant Hills to visit an old friend, not old in the sense but old as we have known each other for at least 25 years and had morning tea and then left at midday to go to the Epping Quilt show, who is celebrating it's 30th anniversary,  in the Don Moore community Centre on North Rocks Rd, this is a group of quilters who came together as a group to sew in each other's homes back in 1982 and have grown stronger over the years and now have 35 members. The group are very welcoming of newcomers and turn out some amazing work. This year all proceeds from the quilt show is going to research for ovarian cancer. On display was an assortment of Mystery Medallion quilts, there was supposed to be 16, but not all were displayed due to some not being completed, I felt that these quilts were the highlight of the show as well as some other great work. To my delight was a few miniature quilts from Anne Sommerlad designs and as I have completed the same mini quilt , it was great to see it in different colour variations. Also nice to run into Chris Jurd and a few other acquaintances.
