Rothenburg, Würzburg and Miltenburg

On New Year’s Eve we find ourselves docked in Würzburg, we have a pick of three different tours and we all decided to go to Rothenburg, which is one hour drive from Würzburg.
Rothenburg is a medieval town and has the longest still intact wall surrounding the inner city itself. Quite an impressive town with its half timbered houses, cobblestone lanes and picturesque settings.
After our city tour and orientation, we had free time, there was a soft drizzle of rain and not many of the shops were opened.
I found a patchwork store, sadly it was closed over the new year period.

The wall is still intact

These are called snowballs, a speciality to the area, quite tasteless actually

New Years Eve on the boat was a very special night, lots of fun by everyone, also served was a delicious supper.

A very happy new year from Heathton Creations.
Miltenberg, apparently one straight out of a fairytale book with its main streets full of cute little half timbered houses. We did a walking culinary.tour  and got the opportunity to sample some sausage, schnapps and chocolate.

An angel moment.

I got the opportunity to meet this artist, his paintings are very risqué, too rude to post, but I did buy a painted bird and had a lovely time chatting to him, he was interested in knowing if I was from Perth or Sydney.

Lovely streets

After our tour we were all aboard to sail to Rudesheim.
We dine again at the chefs table tonight.
